The conquest of the Great Wall of China by Shuklev and Nikolov proves to us that the realization of great feats always represents a set of joint efforts.
When a goal is noble, then both natural and human obstacles are overcome, and we have seen that other nations also participate and help with joy. This is a strange history of the Great Wall of China, built over the centuries by several dynasties to prevent various invasions, and today conquered daily by tourists.
Man in his past and present has constantly built walls, mostly to protect himself from attacks by people and nature. There is almost no larger city without its ramparts, a house without walls, a computer without a firewall, a man without a protective mechanism. Load-bearing, partition, fence and retaining walls. Chinese, Berlin, Wailing Wall, Wall of Shame, Facebook Wall, Sound Wall, Mountain Belt. The wall prevents the outside from entering, but it also prevents the inside from leaving. The wall becomes a place where light plays and where man, through letters and images, confesses his faith.
Shuklev and Nikolov stepped out of the local walls, overcame distances, united us briefly and recorded their adventure in the longest-lived wall in human history. The Great Wall of China was touched briefly by the light of our sun, different from that of the sunrise still fragile and that of the sunset that disappears. A light that stands high in the middle and seems eternal to you, which creates neither illusions nor shadows but shapes things as they are. There is no getting around this kind of light and not everyone can survive in it. We carry such light wherever we go.
